BPT stands for Bachelor of Physiotherapy is a 4-year undergraduate program that deals with the science of physical movement. The course also highlights the importance of six months of mandatory clinical internship.

Those who have completed their secondary education (Class 12 or equivalent) in relevant discipline from a recognized board are eligible to apply for this course.

Admission in BPT:

To get admission in BPT, the following procedure is required which is given below:

To take admission, students have to pass the 12th Science Stream Biology Group (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology subjects) examination from a recognized board.

In the case of reputed institutions, the admission process follows the rule of ‘merit-based admission’.

The seats have been allotted to the eligible candidates based on the marks scored by the students of the 12th Science Board examination as well as the entrance examination (conducted by the state / national / institute).

Some institutions also have minimum marks criteria, students whose students are considered eligible to participate in the admission process.

The minimum marks criteria are usually around 50% marks in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, and Biology) subjects in the 12th board exam.

After completion of the final year examination, successful students will have to go through 6 months of internship.

The internship period is equally spread across departments such as Orthopedics, Neurology, General Surgery, General Medicine, and Physiotherapy, with the final degree being awarded to students managing to complete an internship with satisfactory performance.
